Through Arts & Architecture’s Case Study Program, John Entenza commissioned architects Richard Neutra, Pierre Koenig and A. Quincy Jones and more to design and build stylish, affordable homes that could be mass-produced for modern living. Many original Case Study homes are still intact and have aged beautifully. Other mid-century modern properties influenced by the modernist movement may be found in neighborhoods throughout Los Angeles. Silver Lake, Los Feliz, the Hollywood Hills and the Sunset Strip have beautifully designed mid century homes. In Brentwood, the Crestwood Hills enclave contains notable mid century homes by architects A. Quincy Jones and Whitney R. Smith. These homes are also found south of Mulholland in Encino, Sherman Oaks and Studio City.
