The Sixties

The Sunset Strip music scene in the 1960s was one of the most exciting decades in rock and roll history. These rock clubs helped launch the careers of many up and comers and showcased already established musicians of the time. The Seventies

During the 1970s, Lou Adler and Elmer Valentine opened the Roxy. Bands and acts from various genres graced the venue’s stage, from The Rocky Horror Show to Neil Young, Billy Joel, Bob Marley and Genesis.

The Eighties

The 1980s brought glam rock to the Sunset Strip. Guns N’ Roses, David Lee Roth, Ozzy Osbourne, Mötley Crüe, Poison, L.A. Guns and Faster Pussycat all played along the strip. On any given night, you could find John Belushi hanging out at the Rainbow or one of the many glam rockers stumbling down Sunset Boulevard in their stilettos.

The Nineties
